GIERS MISSION STATEMENT

GIERS will provide services to assist individuals, families, and organizations recovering from a wide range of losses.  Using a variety of therapeutic modalities including creative arts and action techniques, these services will include education and counseling that will help develop coping skills to facilitate a successful transition toward a healthy recovery.  GIERS will also educate and train helping professionals and other community members to understand and aid people experiencing grief.

ABOUT THE MOURNING AFTER BEREAVEMENT GROUP

When someone we love dies, it can feel as though an important part of ourselves has suddenly vanished.  It is often hard to imagine continuing to live through the pain and turmoil of grief.  This professionally led grief counseling program uses a wide range of interactive and creative interventions to assist in the healing process.

The Mourning After Bereavement Group Continues to Meet Virtually via Zoom on the first Friday of each month from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM. 
If there is a holiday or a conflicting event, the meeting will be rescheduled.

There is no charge to attend The Mourning After.   Voluntary donations are encouraged.

About the facilitators: Bob Szita MS, LPC, TEP and Bernice Garfield Szita MS, LPC, TEP are Co-Directors of ActionArtz Training Institute and Founders and Co-Directors of Giers: Grief Information, Education & Recovery Services a 501c3 non-profit organization.  They are Licensed professional Counselors & International trainers in Psychodrama who use action methods for personal & professional development.  They are well known for their custom-designed training programs that stimulate learning in education, healthcare, government, & business settings.
